In this session I will use Manual Lymphatic Drainage to safely reduce swelling, and when appropriate will incorporate modalities such as gentle massage, cupping, scar release therapy and gently stretching.
How does Manual Lymphatic Drainage help with Post-Op recovery?
One side effect of surgery is swelling. Swelling is a critical and normal part of the repair process which brings healthy nutrients and cells to the affected site. Surgery disrupts the natural flow of our lymphatic system, and because of this, fluid often accumulates in the injured area. This causes pain and decreased range of motion in these areas.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage helps to move the excess fluid away from injured tissues and back into the lymphatic system where excess waste and fluid can be flushed from the body. This can decrease swelling and bruising, reduce pain, help prevent fibrosis, improve the appearance of the scars, promote normal range of motion, and speed up the healing process.
Post-Op sessions are most commonly used for people that have had surgeries such as liposuction, tummy-tuck, BBL, breast augmentation, breast explants, BBL, and facelifts.
If you would like to come in for multiple sessions immediately following an upcoming procedure, please contact me at least 8 weeks ahead of time to get on my schedule.
